Making Money on the Web - My Journey Onward

And yet another week goes by! Well it certainly gets more intruiging as time marches on. This week I have started to learn the act of building web sites with CPanel, and I must say it;s quite easy to handle and I will show you later on what I may accompish using this program. There is also anothe program which came my way this week,  http://timmyurl.com/pgjkt  which is very impessive.
If you decide to get into Internet Marketing, then this is a must for you to use, as you will no doubt want to make some of this  as you go along.
I have also added lots of Links for you to check out on the right side of the Blog, so please have a look at them and perhaps make some comments! (Or even purchases)
The other thing I will be doing is adding a page to the blog called retirement income. Each week I will feature an article I have found on the web, although it may not be specifically related to making money on line.

Anyway, here is this weeks article about making money on the web:

Affiliates Should Set Realistic Goals

Posted by Joe on July 25th, 2010

When starting out as an affiliate promoting someone elses product or website it is normal to swing for the fence. However, this can eventually end in failure. Setting realistic sales and income goals can actually motivate and ensure longevity. For example everyone wants to make a million dollars and retire early. This is achievable if you set your goals realistically. The Internet is the grand illusion that paints this portrait of instant riches to the average online marketer. Newcomers often think they will see immediate income and be able to retire in 3-6 months. While this has happened for some the majority need a 3-5 year plan for success. The Internet guru’s and scam artists can be blamed for this tragic reality.

It is safe to say your first few months in business will be trial and error, learning as much as you can about marketing online and off and figuring out what works. Everyone should have a marketing budget and stay within that budget and grow advertising expenses as the profits start to come in. Add your credit card payments from month 3-6 and then your utility bills to month 6-9 and then the grand daddy of them your entire mortgage by month 12. Even if you just made an extra $300 a month and never added any more income, that could be used to accelerate the pay-off of debts and then put into a IRA to build retirement income. Add an extra $100 to your monthly credit card payment and you can pay it off in 1-2 years as opposed to 15-20. The power of making extra money online is all in how you look at it. Keep your day job, set realistic income and sales goals, track them daily, weekly, monthly and yearly and you will see your income grow and grow.

A case in point is someone trading in car rental and auto insurance. He studied some affiliate programs ahead of time and achieved great success in his business. He’s thinking of offering services in insurance quotes as well.

Well  people, I hope you got something from this weeks post and don't forget to comment! Until next week,
Cheers,

Making Money on the Web - My Journey is moving on

Well this week has been busy again with no end of things happening at work and the usual million emails to get through. I do want to say, that since starting the blog I think the most emails that I have received, are to do with 'List Building'. I do believe I have mentioned this before. Now I know that a list is essential for getting traffic to your site, but hell there are thousands out there that want to sell you programs for doing this. Well, I'm not ready yet to pay for them. As I mentioned in my precious posts, my main reason for the blog is to find legitimate programs for making money on the web.

I want to continue my theme of 'Affiliate Marketing' and would like to point you to a page here on my blog which is dedicated to Liz Tomey, who is a very well respected Internet Marketer. I will try to bring you a bio on some of the top marketers as we go along. This will give you some insight into what can be achieved with lots of hard work.
There are quite a few programs that I have joined and am affiliated with and here is another one of them that I think you should take a look at. Remembering I am only showing you the ones I have researched and found  to be ok.

Well here is an article I found for you for this week:

If you are on the verge of your retirement years it is good to plan ahead so that you will be able to enjoy it more by being able to support the retirement lifestyle that you want. Since it is an acceptable fact that prices of commodities always tend to go up, it is practical then to make sure that you can fill the gap when essential lifestyle expenses exceed your total retirement income. In most cases retired people rely on the funds provided to them by Social Security but these days, retirees admit that it does not support much of a lifestyle anymore and even more so within 3 to 5 years from now. Retirees then should find a way to boost baby boomers earnings to be able to fill the gap between basic retirement income and the retirement lifestyle expenses.

The first thing you need to do is determine how much of a gap you need filling up when you retire. This way you will be able to have an estimate on how much money you should be making as a supplement retirement income. You need to determine a lot of details then such as how much time you have until you retire, how much you have saved for your retirement, how much annual interest you would possibly earn from your savings, how much is your social security and pension plan income per month, and how much you need to spend monthly to be able to have the retirement lifestyle that you want.

Once you have determined the figures, the step that you would need to take next is to determine your options on how to earn some extra dough during your retirement years. The Internet has provided a lot of opportunities available for people who want to work from home and it does not make an exception to anyone in the world no matter what age or what nationality. Never think that you are too old to make money using the Internet.

There are a lot of legitimate home business ideas you can take advantage of in the online industry. Being a retiree, you probably know information or acquired some skills that others would like to know about. You can actually sell these kinds of information online by writing about them to be able to earn supplemental income. People will always search the Internet for information they need so there is indeed a very large target market for you to take advantage of. Best of all, you will be able to work from home with the schedule that you want to have.

Other options you can explore include part-time jobs perhaps with your previous employers, being an affiliate marketer either online or offline, and a lot more. Explore you options and make decisions before you retire so that you will be able to enjoy a lifestyle you want for the rest of your life.

Making Money on the Web - My journey continues

Sunday 11/07/2010 It's pouring with rain again here in Perth so the Dams are filling nicely with precious water for Summer. Temperatures vary from 0 degrees to 20, so all in all not a bad Winter so far. Ok. well, what have I been up to this week? Not a lot, as I am back at work and that takes priority over my internet stuff. But I still manage to review a few sites and programs, check out some training videos and read untold emails. All in a days work.

I found this program that I really, really like, check out this video then this site
I would like to know what you think of this program and would appreciate comments. I have signed up and will promote it thoroughly.

I have a follower who has her own web site about how to make money
check it out and leave a comment or two.
Ok I have an article by Mike Finding that I think you will like, again leave a comment should you so wish. Here goes:

So, You want to start a Business to Make Money Online?

These days there are likely to be more people needing to look around for different ways to make a living! People in the corporate world, state employment and private industry ALL have to consider the way forward; something they were probably NOT expecting to have to do. Now is a great time to learn to make money from home.

More people these days, including stay at home mums and dads, are turning to a very popular business model - Internet Marketing and learning how to set up a business on the Internet. In this business, there are no bosses or deadlines to meet. In order to succeed, you only need the necessary skills and the will to make it happen.

1. You need to want to LEARN how to make money online!

The ability to find and use new information and learn new skills is really crucial to this type of business. You will no longer be told what to do and when! YOU are the boss and YOU have to manage your time to the best effect.

New skills will be needed; learning what happens on the Internet, how it happens and what you need to do to harness the power of the Internet for yourself.

You have to know what you ultimately want to achieve. Set goals and be prepared to learn and be taught. No matter what your age is - this is a "new" way to work. New skills are required but are NOT as difficult as many people would have you believe!

GOAL SETTING. This is a great skill to master and many people really don't do that. Driving a car, piloting a plane, sailing a boat - you KNOW where you're going. SAME thing goes for any business; including the online business.

"Making Money Online is a skill. Just like plumbing or carpentry. But just like ANY skill, it can be learned" - Chris Farrell
2. You MUST invest time at this

You must invest time and effort in starting this business - like ANY business. Immediate results are very unlikely and you must accept that. The new "processes" and procedures required are skills to learn and they do take time, depending on your personal aptitude and ability to understand unfamiliar terminology. You will need time to make it happen. The fact that it DOES take a certain amount of time certainly will test your will and determination! Just consider the potential life you could have.

3. So you have the will and determination to succeed?

This IS a key to success and results from your desire and passion for the ultimate goals you have set for yourself; if the goals are big enough and wanted badly enough, you will make it work. Working for yourself means that you need to know exactly where you want to be at a future date and what type of life you want to be living. Now that you are "on your own" it will also be advantageous to have a true mentor to help you.

Too many people give up; probably just as they are about to make it. If you really want to make it work for you - you MUST persevere and, despite the inevitable "setbacks" - KEEP GOING!

4. You have to take charge of your life

You are the boss now! Be focused and have a disciplined approach to work. The end GOALS must be kept in mind. Plan your days and list the jobs or skills you are going to set out to accomplish for the day. Follow it through. Don't be distracted. Concentrate and work in an orderly way. This can be a little tricky especially when working at home for the first time - the garden seat and a nice cup of your favourite brew can be a major distraction! Don't get me wrong - take regular breaks and relax. But keep them organised!

"Opportunity is seldom recognized because it often shows up wearing overalls looking like hard work."
5. Attitude is everything. Look forward and enjoy the view!

A positive attitude is a requirement. Set your goals and do not listen to those who would try to discourage you - for whatever reason. You will find that well meaning friends and relatives may try to dissuade you from your path. If your desire and goals are strong enough you will not waver! This is YOUR dream, YOUR business; YOU are the boss and YOU answer to no one but yourself. If you have come out of a structured office or corporate environment this could be a bit tricky to master in the first place. But if you find the right help and keep going the results could be amazing!

Making Money on the Web - My Journey

Here I am back in Oz after my bi annual break in the UK. Do you realise, I left a perfectly good Summer to come back here to this miserable weather? Well I suppose it can't stay at mid 30 degree celsius for always eh?
Making money on the web is turning out to be a very interesting journey indeed. When I started some time ago, I wanted to research programs I found that would be suitable to add to my retirement income . But as I now am 11 weeks into the Blog, it is becoming more and more demanding, because of the amount of programs out there. So, I've decided to concentrate on no more than 20 programs. This will cover selling Physical products, Digital products (ebooks etc) Affiliate Marketing, Dropshipping and Web design & Hosting. There is nothing to stop anyone from incorporating the whole spectrum into one site.

Designing a site to sell all of the products I mention will take some time and I have started on this project today. As I build my site I will take you through the stages step by step with links to tutorials and articles, should you wish to also go down this path. Remember of course this blog and any comments and information contained herein is for newbies like me. If anyone out there reading this material, who wishes to contribute, then that woul be fantastic.

Ok, here is this weeks article about Web Hosting possibilities:

If you’ve been hosting your own sites for any length of time, it has probably occurred to you that you could be making money with web hosting. You’ve managed to get all the systems down, and the web hosting affiliate programs make it very attractive, as they have very high payouts, so why not? Here are several ways you can add passive income to your bottom line by reselling web hosting services.
The first and most obvious way would be if you had your own servers, and wished to rent out space and bandwidth to paying customers. This presupposes that you (or someone who works for you) has the technical know-how to deal with not only an enterprise that can be quite large, but also the various customer support issues that will undoubtedly come along.
Assuming you do, there is also the concern that having a lot of strangers, albeit paying ones, sharing your web space can be troublesome, especially as regards spam and security. The last thing you need is some yahoo (no offense Yahoo) coming along and giving your IP a bad name, and ruining it for everyone, including yourself.
Rather than having to suffer through the pains of endless support tickets and becoming a full-time service provider, I prefer the model of reseller web hosting accounts. These are relatively low price accounts, ($20-$40 monthly) that afford you a certain amount of web space and bandwidth for you to use to resell the web hosting service.
You usually are given great tools and support to do this with: marketing materials, support teams, and technical know-how. You handle the marketing and billing. It’s very close to a passive income model, as most of your duties revolve around processing payments, with as much marketing thrown in as you care to do. You can advertise with simple banners on your site, and if you have a fairly high-traffic site, find yourself making several sales a month. Or you can do the whole marketing campaign route, and do far better.
Another way to get in on some of this lucrative market is to market it strictly as an affiliate.
http://www.bluehost.com/track/wyncroftmarketing
This way affords you by far the most hands-off way making money with web hosting. You can use PPC, article marketing, social media and countless other ways to drive prospects to your affiliate landing pages, and at usually between $50-$100 per sale, this can add up quite nicely.
Getting involved in creating cash in the web hosting space takes a little patience, as it is a competitive market, but the reward is well worth it! Throw your hat in the ring and see if you can’t ring up some passive income this month!
Ok, thats it for this week, I will keep you posted.
Cheers.,
Richard J
